Got my cuppa Joe and headed straight over here to the Cat’s Lair ready to read— well, by the looks of it, I’m the early Cat and shoulda been ready to write huh.
WAKE UP WILDCATS— THE SEASON FINALLY ARRIVED LAST NIGHT! If you’re hungover, well just play it off as an early November Cold.

Good thing it’s early huh  The 1st thing that came to my mind was SCRAPPY. They look a bit awkward, but still manage to get the job done. 2nd thought—– I LOVE THE HUSTLE. I lost count at how many times we were on the floor for 50/50′s ….. Gettin after it early—— ME LIKES THAT! (errrr….we’re not counting the knock aways at this point!  )
I think this team is going to specialize in tenacity……. and if all the pieces come together— that will make them especially vicious.

Disappointment of the night: Wish Cauley-Stein could have completed the T.D. pass ……… WAS THAT NOT AN AWESOME CATCH…. OMG! I thought wait, is this Friday Night Lights?
Timing is way off—- but I really like what I see——- Elite 8/Potential Final Four,but you know what—consider the rest of college bball is relatively down this season……… I’ll take our chances and it’s gonna be a barrel of laughs and UBER FUN watching this team come into their own.

Wish I had a nickel for every time I shouted: MERRY CHRISTMAS! Noel looked better last night and we know that’s only going to improve and the season goes by.
BLOCK BY COMMITTEE—- GET ER DONE!
T.O.’s are gonna have to be managed better—but we seen that early on w/Cal’s 1st bunch and that ending was far from shabby.

Oh and another thing———
If the only complaint I have thus far is how FSS and BIG BLUE NETWORK refuse to upgrade their feed…. than we’re doin alright!
Seriously…… I mean I should be grateful for my channel package beings that over the past 3 yrs. I’ve only had to watch espn3 once. But you know what—-it’s 2012 people!!!! Is it beyond their technology to bring us a crisp, clear sharp picture????? PUHLEAZE…….

Offhanded observation: WOW! Dave Baker is really showing his age isn’t he.
Rob Bromley—– couldn’t get fired up even if 67 and the Mule lit his tail on fire. LOL

MEMORY LANE REVISITED VIA DIFFERENT PATH

Hey Ya’ll……hope you’re enjoying this Gorgeous Indian Summer. As for me, the paper responsibility has me laboring tirelessly with the light at the end of the tunnel well in the distance. With that said, I had to stop, rest take a swig and reflect. Although, yes I was tempted to do so by no other than rp.
I’m sure most of you have seen the vid this morning with him discussing King Cal~ and the mythic hatred between them.
I’m tickled blue that I no longer carry that hatred in my heart for the ex…….. for now, I can truly look back at our beloved 96 Cats without the twinge of bittersweetness. Payback is a bitch and Success is always, always the best revenge—- it’s good for the soul! We got him, when it mattered most. Ya’ll laugh when I preach on the essence of KENTUCKY JUSTICE but it’s there my fellow felines and is very much alive and well.
Anyway—- takes swig hands ya the canteen……
Did you happen to catch his comments on the games that matter most? I smiled like a cheshire cat at the “US” …….. when discussing Samaki Walker——— after all this time, after all those fights, after all those snide, subtle offhanded comments——- it’s “US.”
Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmmm……………..
I wish him well. Don’t care how his season goes and no matter how hard I’ll inevitably try….. I’ll never bring myself to root for louisville. I reckon it just goes against my Classy Cat grain and seems sacrilegious to do so….. but then——— Class Warfare has never been more prevalent and I for one—— not in favor of social mobility.

Furthermore, I can look lovingly on —- and be grateful but yet no desire to have him back whatsoever……

I’m optimistic as Good fortune should prevail….. you all know the cycle: GREAT COACH, GOOD COACH, DRUNK. Well we’re at the top—- so next should be GOOD and hopefully we’ll all be to senile to soberly endure the next drunk with keys to our empire. ) & Until then I cry: ENJOY THE RIDE!

After A Long Hot Summer We Can Get Back To WINNING

Mornin Ya’ll—– Good to see everyCat stragglin in from their Summer Prowl.
For a relatively simple technology….. Cawood’s Court, simply Rocked! I bet I have watched the intro vid 300 x’s already! And just WOW OOOOHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHH ………. Championship Cats and Coaches on the court liftin those banners. Still thumpin chest w/pride! Cawood brought a bittersweet tear to my eye….we can only imagine what he thought of Cal’s big run last season, which J~ was right…. that’s a once in every what 10 yr. team.
My preseason observations:
Poythress is going to be a leader. I’ve liked this Cat from the get go so I could be blue biased— but to me, he just seems to have the poise to fulfill that role.
MOST IMPRESSIVE: Harrow. Pleasantly surprised. I know what he’s capable of but ya never know when a feller sits out for a season. Love his energy.
Stein: The Hype is for real & being what…. 20th we gotta STEAL. Kinda equate it to the Rockets snatchin up Jones……… He’s going to be lethal, especially if he gets a few more pounds on him. But you know what, Cat has football game so I’m not much worried about him getting banged around—- think he can more than handle it. Joker, keep your mitts off….. he’s ours!
Noel—- talent, talent— but undeveloped. He will be the work in progress.
Lovin Mays too……..Energy and 333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333~
Wiltjer: IMPROVED 10 fold. But it’s early and he was unchallenged. Still, you can see how far along he’s come.
Goodwin is going to bring balance & may very well be our LIFT.
Hood—– I hope he can fit in the system…… it’s going to be interesting to see what evolves here.
This team is going to take some knocks…………. several but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to an absolute blast to watch. Keep this in mind w/the losses—- they best jump on us early “Cousin” by February—-we’re gonna be tough to beat. Of course we still have to address the same ol question, we’ve grown accustomed to…… how well will the chemistry evolve?
From what we seen (which isn’t much) I agree w/Cal~ ……they are too quiet. Gonna have to get vocal and ROAR.
It’ll come.
The depth bothers me this season—but what did last year teach us. And they said we couldn’t win w/o depth! HA!
Watchin the bigs together will be uber Catastic! Looks like Wiltjer will be the trailer——– doin my SOMETIMES I GET A GOOD FEELIN DANCE!

ChaChing $$$$$$$ Show Me the Money

I’ve taken a couple of pit stops along the WildCat Tour…..
Been studyin on it a bit and well now that I’m home, it’s time Woohoo, Yeehaw and Vent.
So Honey, I’m home……

TGIF——
E-town Mall had more Cats in it than some SEC teams have in their home games. I was one of 3000. Signing was from 5-8 and if you weren’t in line by atleast 4— well, you were screwed to put it nicely. My lil entourage arrived around 2 and were guarenteed, but hold the phone CatDaddy’s…….. I was bout to get pissed. I had to purchase 3 prints for 2 signatures (I subsituted one of the prints for my National Defensive Player of The Year Poster from Rupp) Hence the 2 sigs…. total cost $75. But wait what’s this—-I can’t have the damn thing signed? RUHROH…..I just drove all the way to E-town and he can’t sign it. Well you know me: I told that promoter—you best get on the horn w/Peevey at UK and find out, He’s already declared, this shouldn’t be a problem. An hour later (luckily) I was informed he could sign it. YAY ME!!!

Anyway….. on w/the show:
Enter The Brow w/a detail that makes Obama look like the pres. of the rotary club. Those of us guaranteed a signing were ushered through like cattle. Well, that’s okay— I understand, no biggie, but it woulda been nice not to have been shoved off the stage by the almighty powerful detail aka e-town p.d. —> wouldn’t even let us roll up our items or secure them.
Wasn’t expecting to shell out 75 bucks—- Problem solved, sell the additional print and make my money back + some or let SantaCat deliver it……. it’s still up for debate in this den.

Sunday Mornin Church—–

Signing at 1-2 <— note an hour: That’s because it was free I’m sure. FREE is what brought me in the door since the Brow took all my lunch money for two weeks! LOL
Arrived w/my cuppa joe at 9 a.m.! numbers 6-10 in line. Baby it was Cold out thar! Woo! HNS I had for sure! I know a skeery thought~
Got the Celebration posters from their return signed. Love me some Terrence Jones—– I think he is truly the best on these tours! Great pics, good time…. it was well worth it.

Look out Ms.Cats~ has her marker and a notebook—- B*tch List officially started.

Now I understand and even agree to a point about the $$$$ for autographs but D*mn 75! and I got off cheap…. Florence Mall Cats are going to pay 80 smackaroos this week. YEESH.
Here’s my problem: The attitude of the promoter and some of the writers.
They are villinizing (I know spelling—sound it out!) the BBN for complaining and justifying these prices as they brought us #8 and didn’t make a dime all year. True and True. But when it gets right down to it…… Is that the BBN’s fault? NO. That is the n(azi)caa. So using that as an excuse, doesn’t jive w/me. Furthermore, Look at how much we shell out through the season…… Game Tix, Gear, Gas, Eats and column X of misc. expenses. Some Cats scrape together and save all summer just to attend one game. And this is NOT including the traveling that goes on w/in the BBN. Holy Cow: hotels, airfare/gas, eats, doubled up tix (if you’re lucky) and gear/goodies.
Let’s not forget the lil Cats who don’t have a pot to piss in and are glued to their seats not by choice but by necessity that break their necks to get out to these things—- just to share in one lil moment & wallah ….. all the money they had in their pockets is gone.
Is it too much to ask for these signings to be reasonable? I mean really they are overnight millionaires. Ya know what…. the Cats are getting a bad rap for this as well: Davis, gave every dime he made Friday to Charity—- I know this because the promoter told me so during our Poster discussion but he didn’t like it at all when I asked him, yeah, but what’s your cut outta all this? No, he never told me. <—- Just had that look, damn woman you’re a class A beep! well, truth hurts don’t it.

Oh and Promoters/Writers: stop w/the they are just kids crap <—- this was in response to the Brow leaving a signing somewhere early. They are kids and it’s the business owners fault! Shakes head rolls eyes——- That didn’t jive then and it don’t jive now——— Kids making adult money, WORKING in an adult world, having adult responsibilities = ADULTS. and I won’t even go into the business owners being blamed. CRAZY!
Last Gripe, for now:
How can you criticize the BBN and just say, Don’t like it—don’t buy it and don’t b*tch about it and leave them alone when you see them in public. Amazing how things change when the NBA comes calling and the out of state assholes get involved, they have no clue. Had one tell me “Mam (I hate being addressed as such btw, makes me feel old—- yeah I am but that’s besides the point) he’s the #1 Draft Pick…..you know what I told that yankee, well he’s a CAT first and foremost…. I could care less about his NBA status.
I wouldn’t have paid that money had I not of had that DPOY poster from Rupp—– but I paid it w/o complaint— now I’m just reflecting a lil and boiling over the statement that it is our responsibility to see them get paid since they couldn’t all year……..

Well the only one’s I will be attending now are the free one’s in reasonable driving distance.
Time to let our Cats move on outta the nest and nurture the next brood. Tough when the youngins leave home isn’t it……..

34 years——- WOW where has the time gone?  I inadvertently hinted at this earlier——– It’s time to Capture, Embrace and not BELIEVE but KNOW we are UNBEATABLE!  <—— file through the years back to when the highlight of your day was Kickball, cops and robbers and KENTUCKY BASKETBALL!  Allow yourself to RECALL….. the UNDENIABLE 7 yr. OLD WISDOM……   “You’re not beating my team!  We’re the Wildcats, you can’t touch us!”  Say what, you got who?  Psst….rollin my eyes,  PUHLEAZE,  I’ll bet you 5 bucks and my atari we beat you down!

FREAKING WOW HUH!!! (I promise….I am now sober). Random thoughts this mornin as I bask in the glory delivered from the witnessing one of the best games where we actually didn’t get the sh*t end of the stick for once……..

A team shoots what 60 some % from 3 pt. land and we prevail? What’s that tell ya? I know what it tells me…..poor guarding or virtually non-existent and we still pull out the W? Holy Smokes Batman—-this team won’t be a beast ….it already is a BEAST. Can some Cat please please tell me why we didn’t get a hand up in those mugs? Anyway……..

HEY HEY—— How bout Eloy’s quality minutes?! He is being forgotten by most——— so SHOWIN ELOY SOME LOVE HERE!!!

Patience and Poise was TopKnotch! It wasn’t in my house, but on the court it was exemplified! I thought we would NEVER get over that 7 pt. hump <------- on paper that was more like a 15 pt. mountain to climb! I will say it gave me confidence that only once unc increased it to 9. Battle of the heavyweights??? Every time we'd punch (see the LOB that was SUPPOSED to be non-existent) they had a CLUBBER LANG counter. D*mn! No, I would define this as the 2 RIGHTFUL POWERHOUSES of basketball demonstrating why we will be remembered in History while the others (including ucla, YES I believe it) are merely a footnote. It don't get much better than this folks.

I rarely say this--- but honestly, there was no winner. Of course the W has to be logged somewhere and it's PURRFECT that sits in OUR Column not theirs!

Newfound respect for Roy Williams. The Tipton jab will forever live on in UK lore. WTG Roy--- you have a much nicer way of sayin Jerry, you're an a**hole than we do!

Semi Kudos to Rupp---- the bluehairs show that they can indeed do their job, but there's a lot of work to do.... huh beavis you don't let up when we have the ball <---- YOU DO THIS EVERY POSSESSION. I know if I would've spent that kind of money for those tickets......I wouldn't have needed a seat, I would've needed a new pr. of vocal chords! Potential is there, but I have the better solution------ THANK RUPP a reno is coming---- move them blue hairs up into some luxury seating w/their full bar and stock monitors. (after all they pay the bills) and let the OBSESSED, MENTALLY QUESTIONABLE, Louder Loonies down around the court. Problem solved and everybody WINS! YAY!!!!

Team effort but hands down w/no question Kid-Gilchrist..... saved this game! Love me some Kid-Gilchrist!!!
Cal~ was savy in having Teague hug Davis (Can you imagine if that block hadn't happened......it would've set Teague back a good 5-6 games in confidence) Kid has heart and talent but he's got a LOT to learn yet. Patience is an optimal word here........ we have gotten spoiled here over the last couple of years and you know what........he's not bad, he's an excellent point guard -----just on a normal level than what we have been accustomed to. WALL KNIGHT and then there was Teague <------ Let's all show him some love. He will come along quite nicely. He is a great 2-3 yr. player but if Orton can get drafted....... I REALLY LOVE Teague's chances. I think it benefits us & him to stick around a couple of years.

Carolina played spectacular ---- us, great but Man <---- the weaknesses were exposed. That lack of offensive rebounding throughout the 1st half liked to destroyed my house. And here's the kicker that we all know........ WE STILL WON!

How wild that game totally flip flopped from what we were all calling?????!!!! GOD, I love college basketball! You never know what you're gonna get!

Prepare yourselves for part 2 in March/April ......the ncaa took notice yesterday and will go above and beyond to make sure we have another epic encounter. I just hope they have the commonsense to set it up for all the marbles. <---- I'm not holding my breath though and look for it to occur in the elite 8. TYPICAL nazi's at their best ------> we’ve all witnessed their hypocrisy and idiocy when it comes to putting those brackets together. Any takers that puke will once again get a high seed and the easiest road???????

Hey, Ohio St. still think your decimation of duke is relevant or worthy?! Take notes you jackasses there was a clinic in Lexington yesterday that you all should have attended. I promise you….. you ain’t hangin no double deficit loss on either powerhouse—- so get over yourselves—- no better yet, keep buyin that b.s. the media is sellin you—– it’s job security for someone and validates your BIG 10 Basketball as being Beast (laughing as I typed that!) Where Were You April 22, 2010?

The day the NCAA Tournament Died.

We all knew this was going to happen but it’s one of those things that shocks ya when it finally does.
Corporate Interest wins out over the Glory & Magic of the Big Dance.
Kind of ironic that the word Integrity became the Buzz Word & Imaginary Standard for the sport this season but yet, the very entity that organizes & runs the whole shin dig didn’t have a problem nor one 2nd thought about Selling their Holier Than Thou, Conceited, Black Hearted, Biased Souls to the Corporate Devil.
And just like that…… it ends.

The bigger question is this—-
How long before we Witness the demise of the NCAA? I’m going to take the optimistic road here by looking forward to seeing the last yards of that short rope hanging themselves.
Sure, it may seem like a pipe dream right now, but it’s mine all the same. After all, everything & everyone has a beginning & an end. So, I will look on to the near future & welcome the day when the power conferences UNITE, UPRISE & BREAK AWAY from that fraud of an organization w/open arms. W/all the hypocrisy & mis management that has proceeded this latest escapade —It could very well be the shot that began the revolution.

It’s NOT Business, It’s PERSONAL!

Happy “SUPER TUESDAY” CatLand! Ya’ll ready to put that #1 ranking on the line @ 9 & defend it like NoCats Business?!
I’m so past ready! We deserve this ranking more than any other team in the country right now & I’m hoping that the Cats conduct a ROAD STYLE CLINIC to emphasize the point! It’s not just because we know they deserve it. NO, for me, this has become PERSONAL. 

As a Cat by birthright, I’m used to all the negativity & hatred for the Wildcats & Big Blue Nation. Like many of you, my skin is riddled w/wrinkles & cracks but tougher than leather.
I professed my love for this team last week & like w/any & all things I love, I defend w/a fiery passion. Yes, I’m reveling in the hatred & envy we are once again receiving, but there comes a point in time when Kudos & Props are due! In our case, it’s quickly becoming Long Past Due & I’m going to start tallying the fines of the naysayers, haters & wannabe’s.

I think the thing that irks me the most is this WEAK argument of Kentucky hasn’t played anyone—- Okay, it’s all well & fine to have that opinion, but quit tryin to pass it off as a legitimate fact! The numbers don’t work in this arguments favor & the key witness is the SOS of the other Top 5 teams. I won’t even go into the Kansas schedule, it doesn’t take a basketball expert to see that their schedule is the laughin stock of the NCAA world this season. Yet, here the ACC chumps over on that Nazi Network aka espn is taunting them as the rightful #1. Question? Since when does the ACC  fall in love with the Big 12????? I think I’ve solved that mystery….. and the answer falls within an old cliche—-> The Enemy of My Enemy is my Friend. Don’t look now but the BLINDING HATRED by the powers that be is becoming more & more brazen, obvious & forthright. The characteristics that we, as Cat Fans, have known existed for years are beginning to solidy themselves from Paranoia to FACT. When the upper ranks of the college bb world begin to make off handed comments & suttle observations, you then finally know that YES, YOU ARE NOT CRAZY! (Well most of us, Mark—it’s okay hon, we love ya & would never disown ya. Every Family has Weird Ducks & you’re one of the more livelier ones!) Coach Cal~ is aware of this too…you can catch it all the time in his jabs when playing Meet The Press. Who all has he gotten at now??? I’ve lost count. But to date, my fav. was the WWII remark directed at that Creepy Old Notre Dame Coach, Digger. <— who by the way, will never let it go that we were always better than him & his Irish. ( 4-12 is the record btw) Digger is just one of a gazillion examples. Now the problem is this….. for those younger whipper snappers (not just w/in the BBN) The motivation is totally lost in translation simply because they don’t know their History & tend to look at the more popular analysts as the Be All End All truth in the wide world of sports with the result being what we’ve known for years, PREJUDICED, BIASED, SENSATIONAL JOURNALISM not only passed off but ACCEPTED AS PURE FACT. It disgusts me to NO END! Of course, I’m smart enough to know that this is a never ending battle that the BBN will NEVER win, but at the same time I refuse to sit idly by & allow these Haters to rage on w/o giving them my .2 worth.

You know, before Cal~ came here, YES! I was one of the Nations biggest finger pointers in regards to his record. And the 1st to shout out the words CAMBY & CHEATER! Ain’t it funny when the NIKE is on the other foot, you begin to look around for the facts of the matter? And then POOF! You discover that you were indeed wrong! That’s part of being a typical fan. However, it has taught me to look & look again when hearing & reading the supposed NEWS in college basketball. And when it comes right down to it, overall, we are generally GUIDED to misinformation & sensitized to the point that it becomes ACCEPTED information!

Now ya’ll know I LUVTHOSECATS but have the mindset that a loss or two is always, always good for TOURNAMENT DANCING. For once in my FELINE 9 LIVES, I HUNGER for an UNDEFEATED SEASON! Not just for that Banner #8 but out of sheer damned SPITE & We’ll show you attitude! I hope that same attitude resonates w/our Cats & Continues to make its presence known w/command & authority. I happen to love Boogie’s opinion—- “Us Against The World.” That’s right CUZ! In the end, banner or not, that’s the way it’s always going to be.

So, I say take everything we can & give nothing back!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

It’s official. I’m T totally 100% in love w/this team. I’ve always loved the Wildcats, it’s my family, friends & life all rolled into one. But every so often a team comes along, sneaks in, grabs your heart & runs w/it. Unlike the 96 Cats that delivered the Love @ 1st sight along w/my 1st love syndrome, the 09-10 team flirted, toyed & snuck in like a theif in the night w/a Big Thuggie Bear sealing the deal w/his 4 mos. old Peyton antics.

This team is setting itself apart from its predecessors in that they are forming an identity with characteristics of unity, compassion, involvement, & humanitarianism . I’ve told you in the past that there is no Coach better working w/these types of student athletes. Cal~ is not only bringing out the best in them on the court, he’s growing them emotionally as men leading by example. There is no doubt in my mind that every member on this team is going to contribute to society as a whole & will take pleasure in doing so in some way or another.
Just another ingredient in the kettle of Champions recipe.
Yes, Cal~ organized the Hoops for Haiti, making sure our Cats took on the active role, but you can’t make one enjoy & embrace such a role. It was obvious they did!
Maturity grew 10 fold yesterday & Mark My Words…. you will see it bear fruit on the Court, proving that all baskeball lessons aren’t learned in practices & games.
A heart of a Champion presented itself last night. Nevermind the struggle w/putting teams away early or the sluggish perimeter defense… these things will come w/time as they are growing up right before our very eyes. Ain’t it fun to watch?! (: It’s January & we’ve got a long way to go before Peak time….. why be in a such a hurry to reach it NOW???? I welcome watching them work through adversity. A lot of Cats were sweating that Auburn game & I heard many a time…… Auburn’s comin back on em, Auburn’s comin back on em —- to which I CONFIDENTLY replied “No, they’re not.” I know it makes many of us uncomfortable to watch them squander away the lead & play down to the competition …. you ever stop & think that this may indeed be this teams style & identity. It may very well be. Puts Me in the Mind of Sea Biscuit— always needing the challenge Neck To Neck to bring out his best.  Seabiscuit vs. War Admiral -1938 Match Race Pimlico “  “You know everybody thinks we found this broken down old horse & fixed him. Honestly, I hope they develop the skill of the KO punch, but we may all haft to realize that you don’t necessarily haft to EXCEL at every skill to get the W.
I’ve eluded many times to this being a Championship team. I’m starting to buy stock in it & if the Banner Market goes Belly Up so be it! It just seems we are watching History being made before our eyes. And I’m a firm believer in you get back 10 fold what you give.
I’ll end this w/some Kudo CatKisses to our King. BRILLIANCE Cats, BRILLIANCE PERSONIFIED. He’s smart enough to recognize the power at his hands & uses it for the greater good. That is LEADERSHIP. Do you realize that we just sent 500,000 dollars more to Haiti than the NY YANKEES!
WE’RE WINNERS on & off the court. And will be justly rewarded not just in March but for Life.
Coach Cal~ is showing the world just one of the few reasons we are the Flagship of College Basketball & why we SUCCEED.
