Its official, Jim Tressel has resigned at Ohio St. Now comes the fun part watching how the media portrays him and what the NCAA does to the Ohio St.
If your in one of those asking moods today ask yourself some questions.
I’m a Kentucky fan why do I care?
Will the media do a dog pile on Mr. faith and integrity Jim Tressel like they do to Coach Calipari, or will they totally ignore him like they do with Pete Carroll?

Will this tattoo of Jim Tressell resigning sweep the land?
After the NCAA’s recent rejection of USC’s appeal will they then come down hard on the Ohio St to show they are fair?
And finally whats this with “the” Ohio St crap?
Being Politically Incorrect Rules

As politically incorrect as it is to poke in fun at stupid people its also fun to bring up the fact that the Louisville football team lost 3 scholarships because their APR rating didn’t meet the minimum standards set by the NCAA. The APR is calculated over a four year period so much of the problem can be traced back to Steve Kragthorpe. He is now the offensive coordinator at LSU so we can hope their grades will be as bad as his offense was at Louisville.
My apologies if I offended stupid people by placing them in the same category with the U of Jail players.
Cleaning Up the NBA

I don’t follow the NBA enough to know what the penalty is for a flagrant foul, but the cheap one by Bynum would cost him way more than what the NBA will give him if I had my way.
The players union should demand that when a player deliberately tries to hurt another player the NBA fine should be up to 50% of a players yearly salary and playing time based on a sliding scale and carrying over from year to year.
If you don’t want to protect your members from your own members then its possible a conspiracy theorist might say Jimmy Hoffa changed his looks and is running the NBA players union, and not buried under a basketball factory in New Jersey or a roller rink in Detroit.
Ok. I know that Jimmy Hoffa couldn’t jump, had a lousy set shot, was white and that the players union won’t do it but conspiracy theory’s know no bounds.
Anyway if the NBA union really wants to be considered a equal partner in the NBA this would go a long way to showing fans they deserve it.
UK’s Underclassmen

Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and DeAndre Liggins all have/had a decision to make concerning their futures and so far I think the right decision has been made by each of them. I still haven’t heard what Liggins has decided, but from reports he should return for his senior season.
‘Dre is a very talented basketball player and in my view deserves to be in the league, but a senior year under coach Cal can only reap dividends for Dre’. The one area that he needs to work on is his shooting. If that aspect of his game improves very much he will be drafted next season and I wish him the best .
Brandon Knight made the right decision by staying in the draft. His stock improved because of who he is and how he approaches the game. It didn’t hurt his draft status that others pulled out, but even if they hadn’t he was still a lottery pick. I am sure he will continue his education and get his degree. With the money he will make playing professional basketball he won’t necessarily need a diploma for financial success, but it won’t hurt either.
Terrence Jones also made the right decision by deciding to stay at UK for another season. I don’t feel that he would have been a lottery pick this year, but with a productive season he will be a high pick providing he stays healthy. Jones has so much talent so the upside to his staying is off the charts. Next season they won’t be able to double team his as much as the past season because of the raw talent surrounding him. That isn’t to mention Miller as a senior and ‘Dre (if he comes back) for other coaches to worry about.
Whether others agree with me or not they had to make the best decision for their future not ours and I wish them the best.
Good fortune to you guys!

Feds Going After BCS

Well the Feds are opening a antitrust investigation regarding the BCS system. They might decide there is nothing wrong with the BCS system or they might decide to hammer the NCAA for not taking care of all the member schools. Of course if it comes down to a senator from Utah casting the tie vote there is no doubt the NCAA will need some Vaseline for the screwing they so deserve. It remains to be determined what is going to go down but we have an answer here at BigBlueRules, send a SEAL team to the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis. There is not a man on a SEAL team who couldn’t lead the NCAA better.
All BS about taking out the NCAA leadership aside, might we finally get a playoff system to make the fans happy, and which side do you think ESPN will be on?
If we do go to a playoff system do we need to increase scholarship levels to compensate for injuries. My thoughts are that we should go to 90 players since more money will be coming in, and 85 has always seemed to be a little low for a team playing in the SEC. Sure it will hurt smaller schools but most will never make it to the playoffs anyway so why add more players.
