Come On Down

A question for you. Why would a player want to play for anyone other than a SEC school? To win a national championship? Thats getting harder to do if you don’t play in the SEC.

1998: – Tennessee
1999: – Florida St.
2000: – Oklahoma
2001: – Miami
2002: – Ohio St. (won on a blown call)
2003: – LSU
2004: – USC (Auburn was undefeated and didn’t play)
2005: – Texas
2006: – Florida
2007: – LSU
2008: – Florida
2009: – Alabama

To get drafted? The SEC leads in that also department also as the draft results this year show.

1. SEC – 49
2. Big Ten – 34
3. ACC – 31
4. Big 12 – 30
5. Pac-10 – 28
6. Big East – 18
7: MWC – 13

The SEC has now led or tied for the most selections in the NFL Draft for 11 of the last 13 seasons and the last four drafts and every team in the SEC had someone drafted. Alabama (7), Arkansas (1), Auburn (2), Florida (9), Georgia (5), Kentucky (3), LSU (6), Ole Miss (4), Mississippi State (2), South Carolina (2), Tennessee (6), Vanderbilt (2).

Because you love your state school? Ok this one I can understand I mean who wouldn’t want to play for Montana St. rather than Tennessee.

So if your a young man wanting to play great football and are being offered by a school like USC, Florida St. or Penn St. come on down and play for Kentucky in the SEC there isn’t anything like it.

The day the NCAA Tournament Died.

We all knew this was going to happen but it’s one of those things that shocks ya when it finally does.
Corporate Interest wins out over the Glory & Magic of the Big Dance.
Kind of ironic that the word Integrity became the Buzz Word & Imaginary Standard for the sport this season but yet, the very entity that organizes & runs the whole shin dig didn’t have a problem nor one 2nd thought about Selling their Holier Than Thou, Conceited, Black Hearted, Biased Souls to the Corporate Devil.
And just like that…… it ends.

The bigger question is this—-
How long before we Witness the demise of the NCAA? I’m going to take the optimistic road here by looking forward to seeing the last yards of that short rope hanging themselves.
Sure, it may seem like a pipe dream right now, but it’s mine all the same. After all, everything & everyone has a beginning & an end. So, I will look on to the near future & welcome the day when the power conferences UNITE, UPRISE & BREAK AWAY from that fraud of an organization w/open arms. W/all the hypocrisy & mis management that has proceeded this latest escapade —It could very well be the shot that began the revolution.

Business has been so good this year that safetygearhq had released this set of cuffs just for Tennessee. Company president Tom Post Bail said that as soon as Georgia and Florida saw them they ask safetygearhq to make them in their colors with their logo so recruits will know if they come to Georgia or Florida they will get the best treatment.

Your Busted Cup

We are going to do a Your Busted Cup for something to do during the summer. When a SEC football team gets a player arrested and you see it post the teams name and the players name in the topic in the forums and that team will get 1 point. If a player gets kicked off the team for unspecified reasons without being arrested the team gets 2 points. If he is arrested and kicked of the team the team gets 3 points. If the player is caught having sex with a stump broke critter the team gets 5 points but we don’t expect that to happen as Louisville isn’t in the SEC. We will announce the winning team when the season is over.

So far Georgia has 2 points and Tennessee has 1 points during the past week. Florida will be sure to get involved when they realize they are behind.

Big Old Welcome

I think it is about time that we gave all the new recruits a big old welcome from everyone on the BBN!

It seems we can get so caught up in the recruiting stuff that we don’t take the time to welcome the new guys!

Here is to you Brandon, Enes, Doron and Stacey for this years class and also a big hello to Michael for the following year. I sure hope that there are more names to add to the list very soon, but we already have a special bunch of guys that really seem to want to be here whether it is to be coached by Cal or the school. I hope it is both.

I really, really look forward to getting to know all the guys and what they bring to the team. It will be awfully difficult to succeed further or as far in the wins total, but we have some special talent on board for the next two years. I think back to this time last year with great expectations for the coming season just from the talent level of the young men that signed on the line to play for UK and Cal. It truly, truly was a special year win wise and fun wise, but more than that we found out how special those guys turned out to be personality wise. They laid it on the line every night. They were so talented, but yet put team first and put the egos aside.

I will really miss the guys and will watch the NBA much more than I normally do because of them and what they have meant for the BBN. I would pull for them even if they hadn’t come our way, because of the personalities they exhibited all year long.

Having said that the new guys have something to live up to. The last team set a very, very high standard for the next team to follow, but you know what I believe we have the guys to do just that. Each of them have already shown they are capable of playing team ball and that is exactly what we need from them and whomever their newest buddies will be.

The next season is going to be special just like the past one. I am one happy Cat fan right now!

Welcome guys!

Butler Going to Championship Game

Butler gave Tom Izzo and Mich St. a Easter Basket the bunny will remember for the rest of his life as Butler beat Michigan St 52-50 to advance to the championship game. I’m sure there will be some complaints from the Mich St fans but they held Butler without a field goal for what ten minutes and they couldn’t take a lead so to me it looks like Michigan St and Izzo ran out of luck. It was a great coaching job by Brad Stevens who should be the coach of the year if there was a vote held after the final four.
